Wide -span base plate solutions

Wide -span base plate solutions

Public buildings normally have a spatial structure system. In most cases, the spacing between secondary beams of their roof is approximately 3m. It may be up to 6m or higher. If structural load-bearing base plates are used as force-transfer structural members in their roof envelope systems, then flexible layout and simple connection will be possible.

In their design, they had better be laid in perpendicularity to secondary beams and can be parallel or perpendicular to the arrangement direction of outer roof panels or even obliquely intersect it; the auxiliary structures required for fixing the outer panels can be freely arranged on the structural load-bearing base plates.

After completion of installation, the structural load-bearing base plates can be immediately used as the construction platform for upper structural members and they provide assurance for construction site safety and construction progress.

When no independent ceiling systems are set up indoors, the structural load-bearing base plates can play a role of lining boards and perforated sound-absorbing base plates.

When used as structural members, the durability of load-bearing plates is critical; when galvanized steel plates are adopted, the double-sided zinc coating mass shall not be lower than 275g/m²; it is advisable to use aluminum-zinc plated steel plates for better corrosion resistance.
